For the fifth time, 1000 Hills Events has recognized organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to women’s empowerment during the Rwanda Women in Business Awards 2026.

The colorful ceremony took place on the evening of April 2, 2026, at M Hotel in Kigali, and was attended by leaders from various institutions and other distinguished guests.

These awards are given to employees, entrepreneurs, executives of large and small enterprises, as well as individuals who have demonstrated exceptional impact.

The CEO of 1000 Hills Events, Ntaganzwa Nathan Offodox, stated that the awards aim to motivate and empower women.

“These awards are about recognizing individuals for their efforts throughout the year. When someone is appreciated, it encourages them, boosts their confidence, and inspires others as well. It also creates curiosity about how they achieved their success,” he said.

He added that the event also serves as a platform to connect emerging women entrepreneurs with organizations that can help them achieve their dreams.

ASA International, a microfinance institution, received the “Special Recognition for Excellence in Inclusive Microfinance Leadership” award for its exceptional role in promoting women’s economic empowerment in Rwanda.

The institution was commended for its efforts in advancing gender-responsive financing and supporting women-led businesses. These initiatives have enabled many women to become financially independent and actively participate in economic development.

Dr. Susan Homeida was awarded the “Special Recognition for Excellence in Women-Led Healthcare Innovation” for her outstanding contribution to advancing accessible and innovative healthcare services in Rwanda.

She was recognized for pioneering diagnostic excellence, improving healthcare quality, and promoting the use of technology and research in the health sector—efforts that have significantly improved access to reliable and timely medical diagnosis.

This award recognizes women or women-led institutions that demonstrate innovation and exceptional leadership in advancing healthcare services.

REG was also honored with the “Employee Wellbeing & Human Capital Advocate” award for its role in promoting employee welfare and human capital development.

This award highlights leaders or organizations that have made significant contributions to improving employee wellbeing and strengthening workforce capacity, emphasizing that employees are not just resources, but the heart of organizational and national development.
